What’s New for Mercedes-Benz Experts: VGS3-FDCT Reprogrmming (Reflashing), 9G-Tronic Maps Virtual Reading & Writing, and Expanded ECU Support

ABRITES is preparing a major update for Mercedes-Benz models, introducing new capabilities for transmission control units, expanded ECU support, and simplified workflows for automotive tuning and repair specialists.

What to Expect?

The upcoming ABRITES Mercedes-Benz software release includes:

• Direct bench connection for VGSNAG3, no DS Box Set required
• VGS3-FDCT Personalization WITHOUT Previously Saved Data from the Original Module
• VGS3-FDCT reprogramming (reflashing) on bench and via OBD using AVDI
• Support for the latest CRD3XX and CRD3XXNFZ ECU software versions
• Virtual reading and writing of modified maps (checksums are automatically alligned) for Mercedes-Benz 9G-Tronic (VGSNAG3) transmission control units

Direct Connection for 9G-Tronic – DS Box Set No Longer Required

Working with 9G-Tronic TCUs is about to get even easier—alongside the existing Distribution Box Set connection, direct module connection is coming soon.
With the next update, technicians will be able to establish a direct bench connection using only AVDI, simplifying the setup while reducing the hardware required for setting to virgin state and personalization.
DAS Manager for FBS4 cars (MN032) license is required for this procedure for all AVDI users (with annual subscription).

VGS3-FDCT Personalization WITHOUT Previously Saved Data from the Original Module

This new feature is a step forward in improving the capabilities of the Abrites FBS4 Manager.

Personalization is done in just a few minutes via direct connection to the TCU!

NO FBS4 data from the original module needed!

This functionality will be available with the next software release as a part of the TCU Personalization Without FBS4 Data (MN040) license.

VGS3-FDCT Reprogramming (Reflashing)

Our next software update will add reprogramming (reflashing) feature for VGS3-FDCT transmission control units using AVDI.
Technicians will be able to perform reprogramming (reflashing) procedures:

• On bench
• Via OBD

All AVDI owners with DAS Manager for FBS4 cars license MN032 and active annual subscription will be able to access this functionality.

Latest Software Versions Added for CRD3XX & CRD3XXNFZ ECUs

The update also expands support for Mercedes-Benz CRD3xx and CRD3xxNFZ engine control units by adding compatibility with the latest software versions.
CRD3xx and CRD3xxNFZ coverage is included in the Abrites FBS4 Manager:

• Read the personalization data from the control module and save it to a file (DAS Manager for FBS4 cars license MN032)
• Set the control module to virgin state (DAS Manager for FBS4 cars license MN032)
• Personalize the control module with previously saved FBS4 data from the original module (DAS Manager for FBS4 cars license MN032)
• Personalize the control module WITHOUT previously saved FBS4 data from the original module (FBS4 Personalization Expert license MN034)

Included in the Abrites ECU Programming software:

Mercedes-Benz 9G-Tronic (VGSNAG3) Virtual Reading & Writing of Maps

We are also introducing virtual reading and writing of maps by diagnostics for Mercedes-Benz 9G-Tronic (VGSNAG3) transmission control units (checksums are automatically alligned).
This new capability enables users to:

• Read transmission maps virtually through the diagnostic port
• Write modified maps by diagnostic port (or OBDII) 

The feature is particularly valuable for professional ECU and TCU tuning specialists looking for a faster and more efficient programming process. 
This functionality will be available via the ECU programming tool, requiring only AVDI with active annual subscription.
