This month we celebrate the birthday of Enzo Anselmo Giuseppe Maria Ferrari – one of the bright stars of our community, one of the greatest men in automotive history. On February 18th we celebrate 125 years since the birth of Il Commendatore. A controversial figure for multiple reasons but a genius in his own right. What better way to commemorate the birth of Il Grande Vecchio than to show you what we have been doing with Ferrari vehicles for the past few months.
The Abrites diagnostics for FCA is in a steady state of improvement for the last two years since one of our younger and much enthusiastic colleagues took over the project. This passion shows through everything about the software – PROXI alignment and key programming just to name a couple of great leaps forward from the young enthusiasts. What better way to show us what he has come up with together with the whole team than to take us all on a journey through what many of you have been asking us about for quite some time now
KEY PROGRAMMING FOR FERRARI VEHICLES
As soon as our update comes out some time next week, we will start offering our customers the ability to program keys for many of Modena’s brilliant sports cars completely by OBDII. You can read the PIN code from the cars automatically, and program keys. What is more, all the models you will see below will be released completely free for all customers with a valid AMS subscription. This will apply to the following models equipped with a bladed key for now:
• 612
• FF
• 599
• F12
• 458
• California
Here is what the procedure looks like in the Abrites diagnostics for FCA. To be honest it is not that different from the FIAT models of the same time. Here is what you need to know about the procedure. Once you start it you will see that there are a few options.
Go to Abrites Diagnostics for FCA by selecting the FIAT icon in the Quick Start menu. Select Ferrari
After that select the model of Ferrari you are working with, and you will see what options you have.
We can read the PIN, prepare the transponder, program the key and program the remote control. Here is how to read the PIN.
Follow the instructions and be patient during the waiting time. At the end you are going to find the PIN code:
From then on you can proceed with the rest – preparation, programming, and remote-control activation.
There is nothing unusual to surprise you apart from the added stress on working on such exquisite vehicles.
